YouTube's built-in tools fall short. We fill the gaps.

Three problems every non-English viewer hits — solved in one extension.

"No subtitles in my language"

Most creators publish only English captions — if any. AllTranscripts generates a translated transcript in your language and can render it as an overlay directly on the YouTube player.

"I don't have time for a 40-minute video"

Get an AI summary in your language with clickable timecodes — read the gist, then jump to the parts that matter.

"I want to listen on the go"

Download the audio as MP3 in any language the channel publishes on YouTube (multi-language audio tracks).

Everything you need from a YouTube video — without leaving the page

Four tools, one panel. Pick a language once and switch between tabs.

Translated transcript with timecodes

A clean, readable transcript in your language. Click any line to jump to that point in the video. Copy as plain text or JSON.

Subtitle overlay on the player

Toggle "Show on video" and the translated captions render right on top of the YouTube player, synced to playback. Native YouTube captions hide while it's on.

AI summary with clickable timecodes

A concise summary of any YouTube video in your language — useful for long talks, lectures and podcasts. Every [mm:ss] marker is a button that seeks the player.

Audio download (MP3)

Save the original audio track in any language the channel published on YouTube. Useful for podcasts, lectures and language learning. Note: limited to languages YouTube actually advertises for the video — we don't synthesize dubs.

Frequently asked questions

What does the AllTranscripts extension do?

It adds a panel to any YouTube watch page with three tabs: a translated transcript with clickable timecodes, an AI-generated summary in your language, and an audio download. Sign in with Google, pick a target language, click the action you want.

Does it dub the video into my language?

No. AllTranscripts does not synthesize voice-overs. The Audio tab lets you download tracks the channel actually published on YouTube (multi-language audio). For text we produce a translated transcript and an AI summary in your language.

Can I show translated subtitles on the YouTube player?

Yes. From the Transcript tab, toggle Show on video — translated captions render over the player synced to playback, and the native YouTube captions are hidden while it's on.

Can I export the transcript?

Yes — copy the transcript as plain text or as JSON (segments with start/duration). Useful for notes, research and translation pipelines.

Which languages are supported?

Ten popular target languages: English, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, German, French, Korean and Italian. Source language is detected from the video.

Is AllTranscripts free? Do I need an account?

Free tier with a usage quota covering transcripts, summaries and audio downloads. You sign in with Google — quota is tied to your account.

Does it work on private or members-only videos?

AllTranscripts works on videos the backend can fetch from YouTube. Private and members-only videos are not supported in the current version.
